A Little Dose of June

While helping my elderly in-laws move to an assisted living facility, I was overwhelmed by the fact that most of what had been accumulated over their lifetime was reduced to relatively few sentimental necessary items. As I inventoried the room, I realized that the only thing of value was THEM. We, who are in Christ, are the eternal ones with no spiritual expiration date. All the other "stuff" is temporary possessing an out of date time frame.

Epiphany: We live our lives completely opposite of Jesus! We spend a lifetime searching for success, and collecting depreciating things, none of which can be taken on our journey to Heaven. Why aren't we collecting what matters… People? Eternal beings. That which doesn't expire.

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The doxology is actually the last verse in the song, "Awake, My Soul, and with the Sun," by Thomas Ken, 1674. The words to that song are most powerful, poignant and eloquently written. Praises to our God today!
